Skills to Advance Initiative

This course is only available to those currently in employment and fully funded under the Skills to Advance initiative.

Skills to Advance is a national initiative that provides upskilling and reskilling opportunities to employees in jobs undergoing change and to those currently employed in vulnerable sectors. Skills to Advance aims to equip employees with the skills they need to progress in their current role or to adapt to the changing job market. Skills to Advance helps employers identify skills needs and invest in their workforce by providing subsidised education and training to staff.

If you would like more information on this initiative, please email our Enterprise Engagement Team at skills@kwetb.ie and they would be delighted to help.

Our Robotics and Automation Learners

Course Content

The Advanced Training deepens the knowledge you have gained from Core Training and learn to master more complex challenges when programming cobots. In this course, learners will also apply theoretical content to practical tasks directly on the robot under the guidance of a certified trainer.

This course is aimed at those who want to get to know sophisticated applications with their cobots in order to evaluate their implementation in their own production processes.

Upon successful completion, learners will be able to fully understand and utilise all commands in the Universal Robots “User Interface”. The learner will get an overview of all functionalities in a real application context.

Possible areas of application for the robot become visible and methods of implementation become clear.

Even complex applications can be implemented after advanced training through deep insights into URScript, Toolpath and Remote TCP. Conveyor tracking and advanced force control will also be explored in this training course.

Learners must have successfully complete the UR Core Training to undertake this course.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Create and structure your programs in a professional manner

  • Work with multiple TCPs in a program

  • Track and coordinate the movement of the robot with conveyor belts

  • URScript programming language

  • Use the integrated force/torque sensor and force control capabilities for developing complex applications

  • Referencing and shift positions on different coordinate systems

  • Create a robot program using G-Code

  • Use Remote TCP with Linear, Circle and Toolpath Moves

  • Understand the path offset functionality

Suitability

Due to Skills to Advance (STA) funding, this course is only available to those in employment.

Learners must have successfully complete the UR Core Training to undertake this course.

Delivery

This course is delivered over 2.5 continuous days. These are all physical classes at CELTEC, Celbridge, Co. Kildare, where learners will gain hands-on experience in working with a Universal Robot (UR).

Learners must be available for all days as this is an intensive course with much content to cover over this period.

Learners will be using the official UR Academy courseware that is provided at no cost to the learner during the course. Learners can keep this courseware upon course completion.

Certification

Learners will sit the online UR (Advanced) Certificate at course end and upon successful completion, learners will obtain a UR (Advanced) Certificate from the UR Academy (Denmark).
